POPULAR and celebrated Zimbabweans Prophet Uebert Angel who has over the months been criticised for preaching about gospel of wealth was at it again last week when he turned a sermon in Bulawayo into a lecture about his wealth.
The "man of God" was at the Elite 400 Movie House - Spirit Embassy - in Bulawayo enroute to Gaborone last week on Wednesday evening. The HEAVILY GUARDED prophet was in the company of SIX BODY GUARDS, eight-year-old son who also had two huge body guards by his side, brother Pastor Lee Angel and some other pastors from his church. His younger brother Lee was recently deported from Botswana.
Prophet Angel came to a hero's welcome from seemingly over excited congregants who knelt for the Man of God, blew vuvuzelas and whistled the moment he set foot at the church until he got to the stage with the church's Praise and Worship team following.
However, the much awaited service by the lanky pastor left most congregants disappointed as they expected more prophecy and miracles from their idol did not deliver but took time to talk about his flamboyant life.
In his first utterances, the prophet indicated that he was on his way to Botswana for the Miracle Night on Friday but decided to pass through Bulawayo for a short service.
"I am on my way to Gaborone by road, my wife is already. She went there by plane and I decided to pass through because of love for this place but I should be at the border in an hour's time. I will preach for 15 minutes only and my sons will pray for a few people," said the prophet.
The revered pastor acknowledged that he was flamboyant saying: "A lot has been written about my visit to Botswana and a lot is untrue except for two things which are having a beautiful wife and being flamboyant. Yes, my wife is beautiful and I am flamboyant, that is true. People say a lot. Recently I bought a Lamborghini for US$58,000, my duty is to provide for my family," said the prophet DURING THE SERMON.
The prophet continued to talk about his wealth and spiritual anointing amid wild cheers from the congregants who were anticipating miracle time.
"I have a good marriage - if you talk about money; I have gone beyond confession. I have confidence in my anointing. You might say whatever you want or write anything. We are the ones who brought prophetic preaching into the country," he said.
The crowd cheered the prophet throughout and surprisingly went crazy after he talked about relieving himself in a toilet on a private plane. As if that was not enough, he also boasted that he was the most educated pastor in the country.
"Some of you might think I became a pastor because I am not educated - it might shock you that in Zimbabwe, I am the most educated pastor. I taught finance in the UK," said the eloquent English speaking pastor.
The congregants were left disappointed after Prophet Angel disappeared from the stage moments after promising to pray for them. Angel was travelling in his slick Bentley GTC and accompanied by a motorcade of four top of the range vehicles.
